This November, Australian beauty brand Make My Shave celebrates four years of changing the way women view and experience shaving — a bold idea that began in the shower.

Launched in 2021 by founder Lindsay Kinniburgh and her husband Mike, Make My Shave was born from a moment of frustration with overpriced, landfill-bound pink razors — and a desire to create something better.

“I was standing in the shower with a blunt pink plastic razor and just thought, why is this the norm?” says Lindsay. “So I decided it was time to stop waiting for someone else to solve the problem I had.”

What began as a simple desire for something better — a razor that was beautiful, effective, and kind to the planet — quickly became a movement. Make My Shave was featured on Sunrise 7, and within months of launching, it became the talk of vanities across Australia.

Today, as the brand celebrates its fourth birthday, Make My Shave is more than just a razor — it’s a philosophy. A ritual that redefines beauty as confidence, care, and connection.

A Skin-First Ritual for Modern Women

Make My Shave’s philosophy is simple: skin first, planet always.

From its signature Vegan Australia Certified aloe razor to its best-selling dermaplaner and newly launched facial oil, every product is designed to bring glow, simplicity, and sustainability into daily routines.

“Our customers wanted more than a close shave — they wanted to feel something,” says Lindsay. “So we created a brand that gives women a moment of confidence and genuine care. A reminder that beauty starts with how you feel, not what you follow.”

With its clean design, eco-conscious packaging, and long-lasting quality, Make My Shave has become a symbol of what modern beauty stands for: intentional, inclusive, and inspiring.

Beyond Beauty: A Movement with Impact

From the beginning, Lindsay and Mike set out to build a business that gives back — not just to women, but to the world.

To date, Make My Shave has planted around 2,000 native trees and species across Australia, launched a razor recycling program, and reduced plastic waste by offering lifetime metal handles and refillable blades. Products are Vegan Australia Certified and packaged using recyclable or compostable materials — right down to the soy-based labels.

It’s beauty with backbone — and the industry is taking notice.

Four Years of Glow — and Just Getting Started

As Make My Shave marks this milestone, Lindsay reflects on what’s next:

“This brand started as a celebration of stepping into a new chapter,” she says. Four years on, it’s still about the same thing — helping women feel confident in their own skin and doing good along the way.

As women, we’re told we should shave — then told we shouldn’t, or just not in certain areas. With Make My Shave, we believe it’s your body, your routine, your rules. We say: do what makes you feel good, and make no apologies.”

Looking ahead, Make My Shave plans to expand into select retailers and continue building its community of glow-getters across Australia and beyond.

Because in a world obsessed with filters, Make My Shave is all about feeling real — and radiant.
