We're glad you love your weighted metal handle! On razor heads, blade oxidation is one of the most common challenges with multi-blade razors and bathroom humidity can also play a role as steamy environments accelerate oxidation. The good news is that there are a few extra steps you can take to help prevent this.
We noticed from your past orders that you have our In-Shower Razor Holder, which is designed to store blades upright so they can drain and air dry properly between uses, helping prevent rust. A few additional tips that can really help: gently shake the head after rinsing to remove excess water, store your razor on the holder away from running water, and pat the blades dry with a towel after use.

Regarding our recycling programme, we completely understand the frustration, and we hear you. The cost of our return mailer reflects Australia Post's current parcel rates for sending and return, plus packaging and operational costs. It's a non-profit service we offer because we genuinely believe in closing the loop on blade waste.

We do ask that used blades are returned in our specific packaging, and we want to be transparent about why. Used blades are handled by Mike and I personally, and our packaging is designed to prevent health and safety risks on our end.
That said, we'd love to offer you a more flexible option. If you'd prefer to return your used blades via your own postal method, we're more than happy to accommodate that. Just reach out to us at hello@makemyshave.com.au and we'll give you direct guidance on labelling and return instructions. As a long-term customer, we want to make this as easy as possible for you.

We also want to take a moment to share the broader picture of our environmental commitment and reassure you that as a small business, every decision we make is guided by our responsibility to both our customers and the planet. Our refills include free shipping and come in 100% plastic-free, compostable packaging, something we were told couldn't be done when we started.
