How often should I replace my blade?
Every 2–5 uses is the general guide — which at the recommended dermaplaning frequency of every 3–4 weeks means most people replace their blade every one to two months.
The most reliable signal is how the blade feels: when it starts to drag rather than glide, or your skin feels more irritated after a session than usual, it's time for a fresh one. Don't push a blade past its best — a sharp blade is what makes dermaplaning effective and comfortable.

One of the joys of becoming old is noticing pesky little hairs growing on your face. Personally I prefer hair to grow from my head not my face, but since my face hair hasn't acknowledged this request, it continues to grow in place it's not wanted. So I am now reduce to shaving my face & I am not even 40 yet. To be honest, I don't dermaplan my face with this razor. I simply shave off annoying hairs that refuse to stop growing under my chin area. I have considered shaving my whole face & remove my baby fluff, but worry about growing thick, black hair all over, perhaps this event will happen when I actually get to 40.
The Dermaplaning Refills are one of many subscriptions I have, to save me time & energy. The refills are easy to replace in the razor, & come in a tiny little cardboard box thing, it's very cute.

We did want to gently put your mind at ease on one thing though; dermaplaning and shaving vellus hair does not cause it to grow back thicker or darker. It's one of the most common myths we hear, but the blade only removes hair at the surface and has no effect on the follicle underneath. So if you ever do decide to take the plunge and go full face, your hair will grow back exactly as it was before. No thick black hair, we promise! 😊
What can change the texture, thickness and growth patterns of facial hair over time is completely natural—hormones, genetics, and the body changes that come with age all play a role. So if you're noticing more than you used to, you're absolutely not alone and there's nothing wrong with choosing to remove it.

Blades typically last around 2 to 4 uses depending on hair thickness, where and how often you dermaplane. Adding a little less pressure and letting the weight of the handle do the work can help with blade longevity, but it's also best to work with your skin and how you feel.
